Booking Your Holiday

Once you have decided when you would like to stay, for how long and in which accommodation, you can make a booking by:-

Our holiday park caters primarily for families and couples so please contact us on 03451 65 6265.

Please note: If your party fits one of these descriptions and you make a booking without telling us, we may cancel your booking after it has been made. We may ask you to leave the park. We reserve the right to charge you for reasonable losses and costs that we suffer because of the cancellation. This could result in you not receiving a refund for the unused portion of your holiday.

We do not normally accept group bookings for groups occupying more than four (4) holiday homes therefore please contact us on 03451 65 62 65 before making a group booking.

Babies under the age of two do not form part of the group total.

Yes, you can pay by installments.

The amounts you can pay will vary depending on the total balance payable and the amount of time you have left to pay before the due date, please an example below:

When booking your holiday you will need to pay a deposit as follows:

Where the total holiday cost is:

Up to £150 your initial deposit is £60

£151 – £200 your initial deposit is £80

£201 – £350 your initial deposit is £100

£351 – £500 your initial deposit is £125

£501 – £1000 your initial deposit is £150

Over £1000 your initial deposit is £200

If your booking is made less than 6 weeks before the start of your holiday, the full price is payable at the date of booking. Please see the terms and conditions for further information.

The balance of the price of your holiday is payable 6 weeks before your arrival date. If your booking is made less than 6 weeks before the start of your holiday, the full price is payable at the date of booking.

You can pay your remaining balance via the Manage My Booking section of our website.  Just enter your booking reference and surname of the booking.

Amendments to your booking may be made by going to Manage My Booking on our website or by telephoning our Welcome Customer Service Team on 03451 65 62 65

Please note that changes must be made at least 6 weeks before the holiday start date and we can only accept instruction to change details from the lead name on the booking.

Should you wish to amend either your holiday dates or type of accommodation after your booking has been confirmed an administration charge of £20.00 will be charged plus any difference in price attributable to the change in dates or types of accommodation.  You cannot amend the lead name and bookings are not transferable to someone else without our consent.  You cannot amend your holiday less than 6 weeks prior to arrival.

You have the right to cancel your booking within seven days of the date of the booking without incurring any charges.

Please Note: Our cancellation scheme is not an insurance policy and you are strongly recommended to make your own insurance arrangements if you require comprehensive cancellation/curtailment insurance or personal insurance.

About our Holiday Homes

Whilst we do not offer adapted accommodation for the disabled, Welcome Family does offer some accommodation which may be suitable for part-time wheelchair users.

In addition to this, the park is virtually flat and it is a level walk to the local shops and beach.

In your Holiday Home you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, with all the crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils you’re likely to need including a microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, cooker and oven.

Duvets and pillows will already be in your holiday home but duvet covers, sheets and pillowcases should be collected on arrival from the Reception.

In your holiday home there should be enough of each item to suit the size of your accommodation, but if you are short of anything, please see the team in Reception.

You will need to bring a few others things along with you:

  • Towels (If required bath and hand towels can be hired from Reception)
  • Tea towels and washing up liquid
  • Toilet rolls
  • Cot linen if required
  • Toiletries

Other useful items you may like to bring:

  • Aluminium foil, cling film
  • Bin liners (one provided in each bin)
  • Kitchen roll
  • Oven gloves
  • Bath mat
  • First aid kit
  • Phone chargers
  • Lunch box / picnic hamper
  • Basic food items – tea, coffee, salt, pepper, oil – though don’t worry too much, there are two convenience stores across the road from us and Sainsbury’s is a 5 minute drive up the road.

 

Items such as travel cots and highchairs may be pre-ordered when booking your holiday or hired at Reception on arrival, we do not however provide cot linen.

Bed linen is included in your holiday cost (for everyone booking through Welcome Family or Hoseasons).

Towels are not included but can be hired if forgotten.

Please note that beds are not made on arrival and you will need to collect your bed linen from reception.

If you require extra bed linen, please ask at Reception. Visitors staying for a second week may change their linen on a Saturday.

No, we do not supply cot linen.

Yes, we hire out foldable travel cots.  If you would like to hire one for your holiday, you can add this option at the time of booking for a flat fee of £10.

Yes, you will need to bring your own towels, however you can hire them from reception if you need to.

In Bungalows (Wavesurfer, Sandsurfer and Starsurfers)  the beds are standard size beds, i.e singles are 2′ 6″ or 3ft and doubles are 4′ 6″.

In Lodges (Casitas, Casamigos, Casafinas) 3 of the single beds are 3 ft [standard size] and the 4th is a 2′ 6″ pull out bed. The double beds are 4′ 6″.

Beds sizes in caravans vary.

No, we do not supply hairdryers, but you can hire one.

 

All our accommodation is heated throughout.

Yes, all accommodation has a microwave and toaster.

DVD Players are no longer provided in accommodation. We are happy to loan you one free of charge – you just need to pay a deposit. Please visit reception for details.

There are fridge freezers in all accommodation except Silver Reef, Coral Reef and Sunrise where there is an under-counter fridge with freezer compartment.

All accommodation is non-smoking.

Ash trays are provided for outside use only. Please dispose of cigarettes carefully and in the designated bins provided.

Yes, all our televisions are flat screen and have HDMI and USB ports.

Not all our units have parking close by and  in our busier periods it may be necessary to use one of the communal car parks a short walk away.

Please note that a limited number of disabled parking signs are available for hire free of charge (refundable deposit of £20.00) for registered disabled badge holders only. Please ask at Reception if you wish to hire a sign.  If requested, we will try to allocate a unit as close as possible to car parking bays, especially for people with walking difficulties.

Yes you can bring more than one car if this is necessary but please park in one of the overflow car parks on the outskirts of the park so that you do not take nearby spaces for others who may be elderly or disabled.

If being used in a caravan, a travel cot may be placed in one of the twin bedrooms by folding one bed underneath the other to make room for the cot.

If being used in a bungalow, the cot should fit in the master bedroom, although movement around the room will be restricted.

Cots should fit in the master bedrooms of the Casita and Casamigo lodges, but not in the Casafina lodge.

Dawlish Warren beach is about a 10 minute level walk away.

Dawlish Warren Train Station is about a 5-7 minutes level walk away. You can pick up a train time table in reception or check out train times and buy tickets from the Great Western Railway website.

Yes, there are bus stops just along the road (about 5 minutes level walk) and direct buses go to Dawlish, Teignmouth, St Marychurch and Torquay.

There are a couple of small supermarkets just across the road. The nearest large supermarket is Sainsburys Dawlish, which is a 5 minute drive away. In Teignmouth there is a Waitrose and Morrisons.  There is also Tesco and Asda in Newton Abbot and a fairly big Co-op in Dawlish.

Most supermarkets can deliver online orders to the park – to do this you can usually  add a temporary delivery address: Welcome Family Holiday Park, Dawlish Warren, Devon EX7 0PH.

To avoid confusion, we suggest that you add a note to the order for the driver to phone you when they arrive and that you meet them at the reception car park.  Alternatively, if you know your accommodation number, add it to the booking then we can direct the driver to the correct area of the park.

Shopping should not be delivered until after 6pm on the day of arrival.

Unfortunately we are not able to keep / take in deliveries for you.

Our Entertainment programme changes every year and details are usually updated about one month before the start of the season.

Sorry, but we do not currently have any caravans for sale.

 

We have a varied selection of merchandise for sale, all displaying our Welcome logo including sweatshirts, tee-shirts, caps and a range of children’s gifts and toys. The full range can be seen and purchased in Reception.

Unfortunately we are unable to process mail orders.

Bringing Your Pet

We have a variety of pet friendly holiday homes, including Caravans, Lodges and Bungalows.

Our pet free accommodation is as follows:
Casita, Casafina, CasAmor, CasaRio, Coral Reef, Arriba, Wavesurfer, Sunrise.
PLEASE NOTE: registered assistance dogs are allowed in all unit types even if the property description says that pets are not allowed. If you or any member of the party has a pet allergy, we cannot guarantee that dogs, or other pets, have not stayed in your chosen accommodation.

£30 per pet per week or £25 per pet per short break. (2018 charges)

  • Well-behaved and fully vaccinated dogs not listed in the Dangerous Dog Act 1991 are permitted in selected accommodation, at an extra charge.
  • You cannot take your dog into your accommodation unless you have included them in your booking and received confirmation.
  • Dogs must be kept on a lead whilst on the park and only enter accommodation which is “pet friendly”.
  • Please collect your Welcome Doggie tag from Reception on arrival and ensure your dog wears it during your stay as any dog found unattended without a tag may be treated as a stray.
  • Please clean up after your dog, doggie bins are situated throughout the park.
  • Please do not leave your pet unattended in your accommodation under any circumstances as this may be distressing for the animal and also cause a nuisance to your holiday home neighbours.
  • Dogs are not allowed on beds or other furniture.
  • Pets are not allowed in any communal buildings on the Park (except registered assistance dogs).

Other species of pet may be permitted to stay on park at our discretion, please check prior to booking on 03451 65 62 65.

Sorry, but dogs cannot be left unattended in a unit.

On Arrival

Check in is at 4pm.

Anytime after 1pm our Reception Team are happy to check to see what accommodation has been released from Housekeeping BUT we cannot guarantee anything before 4pm – sorry no exceptions.

No beds are not made up on arrival. Sheets and Pillowcases can be collected on arrival from the Spanish Villa Reception.

Linen with red stitching is double and blue stitching is single.

About our Park Facilities

2018 prices are as follows:

  • Pool Fun Pass:  £1.50 for adults and £1 for children per day
  • Entertainment/ Cruisers Club Fun Pass: £1.50 for adults and £1 for children per day

So if an adults requires a week pass for both club and pool it will be £21 for the week and for a child it will be £14.

The minimum number of consecutive days that you can purchase a pass for is 2.

Passes are available from reception during opening hours.

If Reception is closed you can purchase a one day £2.00 pass from our Cruisers Club but you will need to show your accomodation keys.

Sorry, but our facilities are only for the use of guests that are staying with us on site.  We do not sell day passes.

Saturdays:   11am to Midnight

Sundays to Friday:  11am to 2pm and 6pm to Midnight*

*During peak periods opening hours may be extended.  We now have Sky Sports and will be open all day Sunday when Premier League football is on.

When Reception is closed, our Welcome Wardens who are situated at the Cruisers Club door are available to help until midnight.

Because our grassy pitches here at Welcome are the perfect environment for ants’ nests, we occasionally have ant colonies. It is practically impossible to eradicate ants permanently, so in order to minimise their intrusion into our lives please carefully dispose of food waste in the bins provided and empty regularly.

Should these measures fail to deter the ants from paying you a visit, please let us know at Reception.  But, don’t worry – ants might be a nuisance, but those found in this country are absolutely harmless – they don’t sting or bite, they’re just hungry!

We do allow barbeques but please respect your neighbours, keep the bbq well away from your caravan and most importantly, do not dispose of the ashes in the bin until the following day when you are sure they are cold. You must not put barbeques on the steps or verandas of your holiday home.

At the end of your Holiday

Check out time is 10am.

  • Before you leave us please kindly remove sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases and place them in the linen bins provided on site.  If no bin is available please leave them in your holiday home.
  • Do not turn off the fridge freezer or water heater.
  • Have you remembered to pack everything? Unfortunately we cannot be held responsible for any lost property so please thoroughly check your accommodation before leaving us.
  • Please lock your door and hand your key into Reception – if you leave when Reception is closed, please pop the keys through the letterbox outside Reception.
  • Hired anything? Don’t forget that you will need to visit reception during opening hours to hand in any hired items and collect your deposit.
  • Make the most of your last day, you can still use the facilities! We have a room where you can store your luggage which is fitted with secure lockers for a £1.00 refundable fee.

This may be possible during our quieter periods, please enquire at Reception.

If you find that you have mislaid any items then please contact 03451 65 62 65.  If the item(s) is found we will then advise on postage costs.  We will always endeavour to return any lost property but we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage.

All guests and visitors are encouraged to make suggestions and provide feedback on their stay so that we can continue to strive to improve our service and facilities.

We also have a Survey Questionnaire at the back of our Arrivals Booklet where for every 50 entries received, we stick your survey into a hat and give away a free holiday!
