Posted on Tripadvisor Kelly Marie MVerified Beautiful Got back yesterday after Monday to Friday . I took someone I support, we absolutely loved every minute of it. Our lodge was perfect and very spacious. Very well located . 1 minute walk from the club house and Tropicana pool. We had a game of golf (free onsite) Starlight clubhouse was amazing. Bingo had very good prize money, good food. The entertainment team were incredible. Great shows. Hats off to Mark Price. Enjoyed a sing song in the bar area 1 of the nights too. All members of staff we came across were really lovely and made sure everyone was having a good time. Handy supermarket across the road and Ryders bakery deserves a mention too. Can’t wait to return .Posted on Tripadvisor Jimmydog21Verified Gem of a family holiday park Lovely holiday park caravan .prices fare emasculat cleaned throughout . all the staff was brilliant from the office to the gardners. swimming pool second to non come to the starliteclub in all the holiday caravan parks we been to over 55 years never has there been one with the entertainment been absolutly fabulous 👌 second to non... never will you see diffrent shows. We did have an issue with the mattress on our bed but once reported to reception was resolved within an hour. We've stayed many times and will definitely keep coming back. Mark and team 2026 were amazing as ever. From Keirons infectious laugh to Ebonys historical facial expressions. Every member of the team are so talented. Ate at the starlight club a few times during the week and couldn't fault the food and prices were pretty reasonable too.Posted on Tripadvisor Kim CVerified Musty smell We stayed at The Welcome family holiday park, in one of the apartments.... whilst it had plenty of room there was an awful musty smell throughout the whole accommodation. One of my children is asthmatic and has come home with a terrible cough which developed half way through our holiday. All our clothes smelt horrible on returning home and had to be washed twice to rid the smell. This is the 2nd time we have stayed in one of these apartments (to give it the benefit of doubt) and smelt exactly the same (2 different apartments) both times. It's such a let down for the site when they put so much effort into the lodges which are immaculate in comparison. We have been coming to the Welcome for many many years and usually stay in the lodges but they was fully booked so went for the option of the apartments. Whilst it hasn't put us off going because everything else is fantastic..... the food, the entertainment, the pools the friendly staff we just won't ever stay in the apartments again.Posted on Tripadvisor Michaela OVerified Amazing holiday We had such a lovely 3 nights at the welcome family holiday park in April. I had 2 children with me who are 11 & 12 and they loved it. We stayed in the coral reef caravan, it was perfect! Spacious, clean and had everything you need. The food in the starlight club was brilliant, we had breakfast in there once and was great. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool. All the staff that we spoke to were lovely and friendly and the service is amazing. The best part about the holiday was the amazing entertainment team! The shows are amazing! Even though they had to change thing very last minute because 2 of the crew were not very well but it all still amazing. The activities were great. The whole place is so well run and it it obvious to see that the team really enjoy their jobs. A short walk down to the seafront where there was a funfair, crazy golf and arcades...lovely! We will definately be back.!Posted on Tripadvisor Maggoty JVerified Welcome …. Unless you’re on time!! A week away with grandkids is off to a poor start. We arrived a bit early for check-in so were not expecting to get our chalet straight away, but thought at least there would be somewhere to wait after our journey. Not the case at this place. We had to drive to Dawlish town to find a cafe to sit in and feed the kids Check in is 4pm, so we arrived at reception at 5 past expecting to be able to unload and settle in. Not the case. “I’m sorry there’s nowhere ready yet, we’re very busy, and I can’t tell you how long it’s going to be, and I can’t call you to say when it’s ready, you just need to come back and check!!! So here I am, sitting in the car park, with 2 small kids unsure of when my ‘top of the range’ chalet will be ready. It’d had better be good after this rubbish start to our Easter break..Posted on Tripadvisor nikt1990Verified Lovely Stay ☀️ Stayed as a family across three chalets in the second week of Easter. Arrival was fine, parked at Reception. Slight communication error amongst staff at check in I think. Two of the three chalets were ready before check in of 4pm which was great, ours we were told still being cleaned and to return at 4pm. No problems, we returned at 4pm and were told the same thing - then returned at 420pm to be told the same thing - unfortunately our chalet was near the other two and from 315 to 440pm we saw no park staff/cleaners so obviously some kind of error on their part. However, everything was resolved at 440pm and we could get in - we did received a bottle of prosecco as an apology. Chalet was spacious, clean and welcoming. I did think the train noise would be an issue but didnt find them too bad. There was parking around a 1 minute walk away. Entertainment is spot on, as mentioned in other reviews it is brilliantly done and you can see the passion and care from the performers! Food from the Starlight bar of an evening was nice, found the prices quite reasonable and quite speedy. My partner used the pool and said he found it clean and welcoming. Locally we used Sainsburys and the shops just a few minutes walk away. The beach being close (around a 15minute walk, but flat) was great and theres food/amusements/shops there. You can walk into Dawlish itself but its quite hilly and will take around 45minutes. All in all, a fab stay. We all enjoyed it and would have no hesitations coming back :)Posted on Tripadvisor Hayley BurdenVerified Top marks all round! We have just come home after a lovely 5 days at Welcome! Our first ever visit but definitely not our last. Site is very clean, well looked after, received a very warm welcome at Reception. Great accomodation, clean, fresh and spacious. Clean and warm pool. Biggest shout out goes to the entertainment team - absolutely fantastic!! The evening shows were better than any holiday park entertainment we've seen before. Actually made our teens put their phones down!! Sound of Silence is one of our favourite songs so seeing that performed was a highlight for us too. Know you've all been battling the lurgy this week so hats off to you all, you wouldn't have known! Thank you for allowing us to make such lovely memories. We were very sad to leave! In a perfect location, flat walk to a nice bakery, takeaways, beach, funfair rides and amusements. Very good value for money! Family friendly and safe atmosphere all round.Posted on Tripadvisor SouthBeachVibesVerified Fantastic park! We have stayed at Welcome Park multiple times now and it is such a lovely park. Well kept grounds and accommodation. Pool and entertainment areas are clean and well kept. Even in high season it’s never overwhelming and love that you don’t have to book swimming sessions. Lovely staff always charming & helpful. It is very dog friendly, our dog loves the place. It would be great if they could add a dog friendly terrace area to the bar so we could all join in on the entertainment as this splits the family up at night because someone has to stay with the dog outside. The park has a very safe, happy vibe, everyone seems in good spirits & happy to be there. The crazy golf, arcade and entertainment are all very good. We really cannot fault the place, you can see they actually care about their visitors experience & we look forward to coming back.Posted on Tripadvisor Lucy JVerified DEFINITELY RETURNING! We’ve just came home from spending a week at Welcome and I want to go back already! I visited with my 2 children and my partner and we had the best time. Welcome is located in a perfect holiday location with the seaside a small 5 minute walk away which is a favourite of ours! Our caravan was right next to the entertainment and it was clean, spacious and very comfortable to stay in. Parking was never a problem we always found a spot. The main thing that was our favourite was the shows in the evening! The team there are absolutely amazing. Mark definitely knows how to put on a show. They were so friendly and welcoming. They have bingo on between 8 - 9 and during this they open the kids club which was perfect for my daughter. She absolutely loved it. The drinks and food are reasonably priced and a lot to offer too. And it’s never too busy which was perfect. The only thing that was a bit annoying was the internet and signal. Only one person from the family can log into the WiFi and everyone else has to pay. The signal is okay ish in the caravan but I had no signal whatsoever in the entertainment which was a bit annoying. Definitely will be coming back!!
