The Powderham Farm Shop is just down the road from Welcome Family’s holiday park. It’s only a few miles away, so why miss out on this local favourite? The Powderham Farm Shop is locally run and family owned, and they love delivering great service and fantastic delicacies. Pick up some succulent cuts of meat from their butcher, some locally sourced seasonal fruit and veg, or hang around and eat out in the charming, cosy cafe that never fails to deliver on taste.
Forest Fungi is one of the weirdest yet most wonderful farm shops awaiting you in South Devon. This quaint little establishment is just a short walk away from our holiday park, and mushroom lovers are guaranteed to find themselves in mushroom heaven. Forest Fungi have their own ‘Shroom Room’ where they grow some of the finest and most diverse mushrooms from across the world, bringing unusual, worldly fungi to your Devon doorstep. It’s not all just about the mushrooms either. You can find a range of meats and other vegetables for sale in the farm shop too.
Occombe Farm makes for an amazing day out for all the family, because not only is the farm shop here excellent, but this is, in fact, a fully working farm. The owners are gracious enough to allow visitors in for free, and you can explore the lovely walking trails set up through the woodlands or even meet the friendly alpacas that live on the grounds. Purchase some local produce at the shop or hang out at the cafe for some refreshments.
South Devon Chilli Farm
It’s an hour’s drive away from the holiday park, but a journey to the South Devon Chilli Farm is a trip not to be missed! Lovers of fiery chillies and scorching peppers will find their taste buds tingling from the strength of the spices waiting on this farm. These guys absolutely love everything about chillies and you can try specialities from across the world. They even produce a rather unique chilli-infused chocolate, which is sure to set your mouth ablaze.
Churston Traditional Farm Shop
Churston Farm Shop is as traditional as it gets in these parts. The local owners know their business, as they’ve been drawing in visitors for years. They produce a lot of their own vegetables and even rear the cattle themselves at Churston Farm, making this a truly local establishment. Enjoy some absolutely delicious pies, pastries and everything else that Devon is famous for at their quaint cafe.
